
There are dozens of articles on how to speed up and optimize Mozilla Firefox utilizing various tweaks to the default Firefox settings. I’ve utilized Firefox for years now and when I upgrade from 1 PC to another I often forget my top tweaks I use to make Firefox faster and then have to research them again. So now I’m going to document my favorite speed tweaks here on my blog for future reference.
1) Tweak the page render time from 250ms to 0ms.
This value is the amount of time the browser waits before it displays the internet page. Mozilla applications render internet pages incrementally – they display what’s been received of a page before the whole page has been downloaded. Since the “commence” of a internet page normally does not have a lot valuable details to display, Mozilla applications will wait a short interval (default: 250ms) just before very first rendering a page. But with rapidly broadband connections you can set this to ’0′ and get a nice speed boost!
How:
Open the Firefox &ldquoconfig&rdquo page: click into the Firefox address location bar, and sort about:config, and press Enter.
The Config file will appear in the Firefox browser.
